New York's Comrade Mayor de Blasio brought down the hammer Thursday on three charter schools operated by nemesis Eva Moskowitz, leaving hundreds of kids without classrooms this fall.

“This has to be the saddest day for the Success Academy’s children, family, teachers, school leaders,” Moskowitz said after meeting with stunned charter parents in Harlem.

“Right now, our kids are being evicted. Evicted out of their school. It’s wrong and we need an explanation. You’re going to have to ask Mayor Deblasio what the motivations are for a decision that will hurt so many children now and, frankly, forever,” reports the New York Post.

Fulfilling a campaign pledge to limit charter expansions within public school buildings, de Blasio revoked approvals granted last year by the Bloomberg administration to two new Success Academy schools and to a third that planned to expand.

At the mayor’s behest, the Department of Education conducted a review of 45 “co-locations” where multiple schools share a single building — including 19 charters.

It revoked nine of the arrangements covering six public schools and the three charters, which all carried Moskowitz’s Success Academy banner.

Left to fend for themselves were:

• A planned elementary charter that was going to open within the August Martin HS complex in Jamaica, Queens, with 200 kindergarten and first graders starting in September.
• A K-4 charter slated for Murry Bergtraum HS near City Hall.
• New fifth and sixth grade students hoping to attend Success Academy IV middle school classes at the PS 149/Sojourner Truth building on West 118the Street, which was put off limits.

Success Academy IV is the highest performing middle school in Harlem and among the best in the city.

Moskowitz called on Gov. Cuomo and the Legislature to undo de Blasio’s actions.

“We need political leadership,” she said.

“We need someone who will put kids ahead of politics. We are a public school. Public schools do not pay rent. And we cannot have a discriminatory policy. Kids are kids are kids. They must be treated equally whether they are in a district public school or a charter public school.”

She vowed to sue the mayor to win back the lost space.

New York Charter School Center CEO James Merriman blasted de Blasio’s team for acting without consulting charter parents.

“It is hard to believe that an administration that constantly urges stakeholder engagement did not hold one meeting with affected families before making these recommendations,” he said.

A student at McGill University in Montreal, Canada was forced to issue a formal apology for emailing a picture of Comrade Obama kicking open a door–all because some students thought the image was somehow racist.

The image was actually an edited .gif, and was shown by Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” last fall. It humorously suggests that the president may be fed up with press conferences. McGill student Brian Farnan, vice president of the university’s student government, sent out an email with the .gif and the harmless caption, “Honestly midterms get out of here,” according to Legal Insurrection.

What happened next is almost unbelievable: Another student issued a formal complaint against Farnan for committing a “micro-aggression.”For those not up-to-date on the PC lexicon, “micro-aggression” is the latest phrase of choice for leftist radicals seeking to blame racism for common annoyances suffered by people of all races.

Minority activists at the University of Michigan, for example, have insisted that trivial slights, such as “Having your opinion second-guessed in a group assignment,” are micro-aggressions (Fucking Bullshit!!!) that betray the campus as a hostile place for students of color.

The .gif of Obama kicking a door was racist because of the “cultural, historical and living legacy surrounding people of color—particularly young men—being portrayed as violent,” according to the apology letter that Farnan was forced to write.

Technically, Farnan got off easy. Under the McGill student government’s Orwellian “equity policy,” Farnan could have been suspended or even dismissed from his position as vice president in the organization. The decision to force Farnan to apologize was apparently made by an “equity commissioner,” whose will can only be overturned by a two-thirds majority of the student government.

Like a true victim of the thought police, Farnan was forced to denounce his heretical email.

Republican Senator Tim Scott has been subjected to criticism ever since he was first elected to county council 18 years ago.

As a black Republican, he says he didn’t fit the expectations of many black leaders. Appearing Thursday on Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren," Scott says the criticism hasn't changed now that he is a U.S. Senator from South Carolina, but he thinks the reason might have changed.

There is a natural tension, Scott told Van Susteren, between being a Republican and a member of the black community reports Newsmax.

The Rev. William Barber II, President of the North Carolina chapter of the NAACP, recently said the tea party is seeking out minorities to use as mouthpieces. He even called Scott a "ventriloquist dummy" for the tea party.

Scott disagreed with that characterization, saying it suggests there is monolithic thinking in the African-American community or communities steeped in poverty.

Often, minorities looking to expand their own opportunities or start businesses are told, "Don't be different. Don't think for yourself," Scott said. If they do, he added, they face criticism from leaders of their own communities.

Today, he said, it is his challenging of such thinking that has his adversaries on the left the most worried.

"Maybe that's what they're concerned about," he said, "not the melanin in my skin."

COLUMBIA — Strom Thurmond’s 1964 switch to the Republican Party helped make the GOP in vogue in South Carolina, prompting white conservatives to flock to the Grand Old Party. Now, U.S. Sen. Tim Scott, the state’s first African-American Senator, could help expand the party again, attracting minority voters, some conservatives say.

If Scott wins the November contest and then again in 2016, he would become a “national symbol for conservative values in the black community, and he will begin to force a realignment” of African-American voters with the GOP, said Clemson University professor Dave Woodard, a Republican consultant.

Scott’s successes would make it easier for African-Americans who do not agree with the Democratic Party’s positions on social issues – including abortion and gay marriage – to shift to the GOP, Woodard said.

State Senate President Pro Tempore John Courson, R-Richland, said Scott’s continued presence as one of 100 U.S. senators would give him “automatic credibility” and help the GOP appeal to minorities in the state and nationally.

The status of Catholicism in France is a litmus test to understand its destiny in the rest of Europe. Only one Frenchman in twenty today attends Christian services. According to the Conférence des de Évêques, only 97 priests were ordained across the country last year. The famous “curé de campagne”, country clergyman, immortalized by the novel of George Bernanos, is replaced by the African priests imported to meet the shortage of priests.

France today has just 9,000 priests, as opposed to 40,000 during the Second World War. The number of children baptized in France has decreased by 25 percent since 2000, while the number of religious marriages has dropped by as much as 40 per cent.

The Institut Français d’Opinion Publique released these figures: from 1965 to 2009, the number of French people who called themselves “Catholics” declined from 81 to 54 percent. The frequency at Sunday functions has dropped from 27 to 4.5 per cent, so that observant Catholics, the famous “Catholiques pratiquants”, have become an eccentricity in France.

Meanwhile, conversions to Islam challenge the identity of Catholic France. In Creteil, in the heart of middle-class neighborhood of Paris, there is a modern, spacious and stylish building known as “The mosque of convertì”. Every year 150 ceremonies of Muslim conversions are performed in that structure with a beautiful minaret of 81 meters, a symbol of the strong presence of Islam in France.

Conversions to Islam have doubled in the last twenty five years while old churches have been demolished.

A few days ago in Gesté, citizens said farewell to their historic church, Saint-Pierre -aux -Liens, built between 1854 and 1870 on the ruins of another church, which was destroyed by the armies of Robespierre. The church was empty and abandoned.

Golden Dawn's leader and five other lawmakers are in jail due to an investigation into whether it is a criminal organisation, but it remains Greece's third most popular party.

"We will participate in the elections, one way or another," Ilias Kasidiaris, the most prominent public face of the party since its leader's arrest, told about 3,000 supporters rallying in Athens to mark the anniversary of a 1996 dispute over an islet that brought Greece and Turkey to the brink of war.

Two opinion polls published last week showed the party would get 8.9 to 10.3 percent of the vote if elections were held now.

Kasidiaris, who plans to run for Athens mayor in May, suggested that a new party, National Dawn, could replace Golden Dawn if it was prevented from running in the election.

"Greek nationalists who have not been involved in criminal organisations, who have no criminal record have founded a new patriotic party, the National Dawn," Kasidiaris said in a sarcastic reference to accusations against the party.

"They put us in jail. And what happened? Did we falter? No, we did not," he said. "We are stronger, we are more powerful and in a short time we will be in power."

Black-clad supporters waved Greek flags and unfurled a banner with the face of leader Nikolaos Mihaloliakos and chanted "traitors" against the government. Some handed out leaflets advertising National Dawn.

Golden Dawn entered parliament for the first time in 2012, tapping resentment against illegal immigrants and politicians blamed for a crisis that has forced thousands out of work and plunged the economy into a six-year recession.

Six of the party's 18 lawmakers including Mihaloliakos are in pre-trial detention over a probe into Golden Dawn and a string of attacks against immigrants and political opponents.

Six siblings from a "traditional Asian Muslim family" in Lancashire have been jailed after attempting to kidnap the white lesbian lover of one of their sisters, threatening to kill her because she had "messed with the wrong Muslims".

Sentencing them to between three-and-a-half and six years in prison, the judge said they had been motivated by religious and racial hatred as well as disapproval of their sister's sexuality.

"This case is about power and control," Judge Graham Knowles, QC, told the family at Preston crown court on Friday. "It's about striking terror into the heart, in order to control not just the body but also the will," reports the UK Guardian.

Almost three years ago Nazma Ditta, one of nine children from Blackburn, began a secret relationship with Sarah Harrison when both women worked at a clothes shop in Blackburn, Preston crown court heard.

Unhappy that Nazma, now 28, was in a same sex relationship – and with a white non-Muslim woman – six of Nazma's siblings plotted to break up the relationship. They claimed a teacher at a mosque had told them to "take action now or it might be too late" and had given permission "to be violent", the court heard.

The family wanted Nazma to enter into an arranged marriage with a cousin or another man, and discussed putting her on a plane to Pakistan, the judge noted. They concocted the plot via the online text messaging service WhatsApp, referring to it as "our mission as a family".

Three of Nazma's sisters, one wearing a full face veil, were caught on CCTV kicking and punching Harrison, 35, after she finished work at USC Clothing in Blackburn town centre on 20 June last year.

They were shown dragging her to the floor by her hair and snatching her handbag, before rifling through it to take out Nazma's passport and other things belonging to her. Beforehand, text messages exchanged between the siblings referred to "battering that bitch". One, sent by Nayyar Mehmood, 36, the second oldest sibling, urged her siblings to attack Harrison and warned them: "A kaffir [non-believer] is taking over." Another message referred to Harrison as a "honky", offensive slang for a white person.

CCTV shown to the court showed sisters Nighat Morris, 39, the eldest child in the family, along with Atfah Ditta, 32, and Ghazala Ditta, 31, trying and failing to bundle Harrison into the back of a car before driving away. All three were sentenced to five years and four months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit actual bodily harm, attempted kidnap and robbery.

They were guarded during the attack by Tahmoor Ditta, 26, one of Nazma's brothers. He had a bradawl "clenched in his fist with the spike poking out between his fingers" which he used to try to scare off one of Harrisons's colleagues, who tried to intervene in the attack. He received a six-year sentence for conspiracy to commit actual bodily harm, attempted kidnap, robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and battery.

Both Harrison and her colleague told police Ghazala shouted: "Get her in, get her in, you've messed with the wrong Muslims, we're going to kill you."

Two other sisters, Nayyar Mehmood, 38, and Tosif Ditta, 35, received three-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit actual bodily harm.

All were ordered not to go near Nazma or Harrison, who are still a couple, until the judge discharges the restraining order.

The court heard Harrison has had to quit her job and sell her home for fear of reprisals. In a witness impact statement read to the court she said she was terrified that she would be the victim of an acid attack.

Nazma kept her sexuality a secret until 19 June last year, shortly after she moved out of the family home. "Knowing that the family would react very badly to the news that she was gay and that she was in an on-going relationship, Nazma Ditta had been slowly moving her belongings from the family home over to Miss Harrison's home in Blackpool since December 2012," said prosecuting barrister Richard Haworth.

"The family had a traditional arranged marriage planned for her and had already suggested a suitor – her cousin, to whom the family believed she was betrothed, and whom she in fact had already rejected," said Haworth. "In April 2013 three further suitors were suggested to her and a date of February 2014 was mentioned for her marriage and that of her two siblings, including Tasawar [a brother, aged 29], who the family are aware is gay." The Dittas were a "traditional Asian Muslim family", he added.

Nazma agreed to a marriage but resolved to run away and live with Harrison, the court heard. On 10 June she called Tasawar from a withheld number, telling him she was gay but not mentioning her relationship with Harrison. On 11 June Nazma had an "emotional"meeting with Tasawar, Ghazala and their mother, Rani, who was originally charged as part of the conspiracy to kidnap Harrison. (The charges against Rani were dropped earlier this year when the prosecution agreed not to submit any evidence in relation to her if six of her children pleaded guilty.)

After that meeting the family "closed ranks and told or cajoled and emotionally blackmailed" Nazma, said Haworth. She received abusive text messages from her siblings. One, from Tasawar, said: "I am dead to you, Delete my number. I hope you are happy with Sarah." One of her sisters, 31-year-old Ghazala, then texted to call Nazma a "selfish stupid bitch. Just wait until we get hold of you."

Her husband, a white man called Stuart Morris, was called to give evidence on Friday, and claimed that the Dittas welcomed him into their family. "Race, religion, sexuality has never been an issue in this family," he told the court, saying that not only was one of the sons – Tasawar, gay, but that one of the other daughters had been in a lesbian relationship while at university.

The siblings on trial claim they acted because they we had "genuine, deep seated concern as to Nazma's welfare," and "acting out of concern for their parents", said Ricky Holland, defending Aftah Ditta, 32, a university educated mother of two young children, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit actual bodily harm.

After the sentencing, gay rights activist Peter Tatchell said: "We regularly get reports from lesbian and gay muslim people who say they have been threatened, intimidated or beaten up by family members who disapprove of their sexuality.

"It is a minority problem but it is very worrying that the victims are so fearful that they don't seek prosecution.

"It would be really helpful if muslim organisations and mosques spoke out and spoke out more frequently against all honour based violence, including that which targets lesbian, gay and transgender Muslims."

Our Comrade President Barack Obama said that racial tensions may have softened his popularity among white voters within the last two years, according to a story posted on the New Yorker  magazine’s website today.

“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president,” Obama said in the article by David Remnick, appearing in the magazine’s Jan. 27 edition.

“Now, the flip side of it is there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I’m a black president,” Obama said in his most direct comments on how race has affected his political standing since he’s been in office.

Obama’s approval rating among all voters is 39 percent and his disapproval rating is 53 percent, according to a Gallup Poll conducted Jan. 14-16.

The American Police State  -  Terrorists, muggers, child rapists, robbers and murderers are roaming the streets.  So what does Eric Holder and his FBI do?  They unconstitutionally target the fans of a best selling music act with top ten albums and Gold and Platinum records.  Bill of Rights be damned.

The Insane Clown Posse (ICP), a Detroit rap duo which enjoys a large and obsessive fan base, has launched a federal lawsuit against the US Justice Department and the FBI in retaliation for classifying their fans as members of a criminal gang.

Four fans of the band, which is famous for their flamboyant clown makeup emulated by their followers, known as "Juggalos," from the states of Nevada, California, Iowa and North Carolina joined forces with its two founders, Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler, to fight the criminal designation. The Michigan branch of the American Civil Liberties Union is also taking part in the suit on behalf of ICP.

The band is known for holding raucous music festivals, though according to the new suit filed on Wednesday authorities have crossed the line and infringed on their constitutionally protected freedom of speech and expression by treating fans of the group as a criminal element reports RT News USA.

“Their constitutional rights to expression and association were violated when the U.S. government wrongly and arbitrarily classified the entire fan base as a "hybrid" criminal gang,” says the ACLU.

According to Mark Parsons of Nevada, who is taking part in the suit filed on Wednesday, Tennessee state troopers detained him for displaying the ICP logo on his truck.

“Parsons considers himself one of the original fans of ICP, having attended shows and supported the band for years. In honor of the band, Mark named his own trucking company Juggalo Express, LLC and decorated his big rig with the image of a Hatchetman,” said a statement by the Michigan ACLU.

“While Mark was hauling cargo in a tractor-trailer emblazoned with an ICP logo, he was detained for a safety inspection by a Tennessee State Trooper. When Mark asked why he was stopped, the Trooper replied it was because the logo was associated with a gang ‘according to the FBI.’”

Another of the suit’s participants, Scott Gandy of North Carolina, says he was forced to spend hundreds of dollars concealing his Juggalo tattoos as a US Army recruit after the military deemed them “gang related” body art.

“Among the supporters of almost any group — whether it be a band, sports team, university, political organization or religion — there will be some people who violate the law,” reads the suit.
“However, it is wrong to designate the entire group of supporters as a criminal gang based on the acts of a few. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened here.”

The case can be traced back to a 2011 report published by the FBI’s National Gang Intelligence Center, which described Juggalos as “a loosely organized hybrid gang” whose members were “expanding into many US communities,” reports the New York Times.

According to that FBI report, entitled “National Gang Threat Assessment: Emerging Trends,” ICP fans were involved in several incidents which legitimized the threat assessment issued by the agency, including one case where “two suspected Juggalo associates were charged with beating and robbing an elderly homeless man.”

The ICP had filed an earlier lawsuit in 2012 against the FBI for disclosure of the bureau’s justification for classifying their fans as members of a gang. The bureau filed a motion to dismiss that suit in August.

“We’re not a gang, we’re a family. We’re a diverse group of men and women, united by our love of music and nothing more. We’re not a threat, a public menace or a danger to society,” said Utsler during a press conference announcing their latest lawsuit.

Professors and academics will discuss holocaust eroticism, lesbian cowboys, and the “Violent Ethics of Whiteness,” at the Modern Language Association’s (MLA) annual convention starting today.

Illinois' Northwestern University’s Phyllis Lassner, a writing professor, will present “Erotic Terror in Auschwitz: An American Tale,” on the 1994 novel The Kommandant’s Mistress, which depicts “an erotically violent relationship between a Jewish woman prisoner and an S.S. perpetrator born in Auschwitz and ending in the United States.”

The MLA, which is most notable for their widely used grammatical style guide, seeks to provide “opportunities for its members to share their scholarly findings and teaching experiences with colleagues and to discuss trends in the academy,” reports Campus Reform.

Special focus will be given to the “Violent Ethics of Whiteness,” and “Teaching Racist Texts” which spotlights “engaging students in frank conversations about the racism inherent in much of American literature.”

Such racially themed discussions include “Beyond Huck and Pudd’nhead: Mark Twain and Race,” which will investigate “Constructing a Legacy of Whiteness in The Autobiography of Mark Twain,” “'Where You Gon Be Standin?': Spatial Logics, Civil Rights Discourse, and the Poetics of Black Lesbian Identity,” and “Interracial, Cross-Species, Cross Gender: The Political Value of Queer Coalition.”

The full discussion on the popular television show Girls, titled “Girls and the F Word: Twenty-First-Century Representations of Women's Lives” will have three sessions discussing “The Politics of Dressing and Nakedness,” dating, and “Popular Music and Issues of Identity” in the show.

Another popular discussion topic is queer themes in literature, including the panels "Lesbian Cowboys: Queering the Wild West through Blood Memory and Literary Activism,” “Is everything queer?,” “Between ‘Gay’ and ‘Queer’,” and “Wild, Queer, Vulnerable.”

Contemporary political issues will also be discussed at the convention, including “Beards and Breasts: The Performative Protest Politics of La Barbe and Femen,” and “The Literary Histories of Barack Obama's Dreams from My Father.”

The discussion topic “Literature and Life after Capitalism: Socialism, Barbarism, Communism, or Just More Capitalism?” will feature a “roundtable on literature, anti-capitalist activism, and projects of the future.”

The University of Colorado, Denver (UCD) has placed a "cultural diversity" coordinator on paid leave after allegations surfaced she was operating a phone sex business during university hours.

Resa Cooper-Morning, 54, Cultural Diversity coordinator at UCD also managed a soft-core pornography site featuring a sex-chat component that allowed subscribers to engage in explicit conversations with the CU administrator during her university hours.

The “phone sex that will rock every part of your body!” was purportedly available Monday-Friday from 7:30am through the evening.

Cooper-Morning’s CU schedule indicated she worked at the university from 7 a.m. through 3 p.m. Monday through Friday according to Denver’s CBS4.

“She does it while she is working at CU Denver,” Blair Cooper, Resa's daughter-in-law told CBS4.

“She is taking calls at work. I’ve been in her office and she’s said, ‘Oh, let me be right back I have a phone call.’ She takes them very discreetly, shuts her door takes phone sex calls on CU of Denver’s pay.”

CU Denver Vice Chancellor of Communications Leanna Clark told CBS4 that an internal investigation is being conducted. “The University of Colorado Denver takes this allegation very seriously,” Clark said.

Cooper-Morning, employed by the University of Colorado since 1992, will continue to receive her $68,000 annual salary.

State records obtained by CBS4 show that in 2003 the CU administrator established a business which included a website “msresa.com.”

The site features numerous nude, provocative photos of the CU administrator and allows users to purchase memberships that allow them to view dozens of low budget, soft core videos starring Cooper-Morning. One is entitled “Erotica in Pink,” another “Ride Her Pony!” while a 2013 offering is called “Vanilla Cocoa Butter Oil.” The short videos generally show Cooper-Morning in provocative poses and taking her clothes off.

The larger concern for CU administrators is that the website contains a phone sex component which offers users the ability to talk dirty with Cooper-Morning for $1.49 a minute about “fantasies … guided masturbation” and as the site promotes “phone sex that will rock every part of your body!.”

“Maybe kiss my brown thighs,” suggests her phone sex site. The site says Cooper-Morning can be reached for phone sex Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until late at night. Her university work hours are listed as 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The prospect that the CU administrator has been engaging in paid phone sex at the same time she is being paid to work by taxpayers has administrators concerned.
