Yahoo: 'A whole new level of violation of our users' privacy'.
Obama's NSA uses the British security services as a cover to spy on you and avoid the 4th Amendment to the Bill of Rights.
Britain's surveillance agency GCHQ, with aid from the US National Security Agency, intercepted and stored the webcam images of millions of Internet users not suspected of wrongdoing, secret documents reveal.
GCHQ files dating between 2008 and 2010 explicitly state that a surveillance program codenamed Optic Nerve collected still images of Yahoo webcam chats in bulk and saved them to agency databases, regardless of whether individual users were an intelligence target or not.
In one six-month period in 2008 alone, the agency collected webcam imagery – including substantial quantities of sexually explicit communications – from more than 1.8 million Yahoo user accounts globally reports the UK Guardian.
Yahoo reacted furiously to the webcam interception when approached by the Guardian. The company denied any prior knowledge of the program, accusing the agencies of "a whole new level of violation of our users' privacy".
GCHQ does not have the technical means to make sure no images of UK or US citizens are collected and stored by the system, and there are no restrictions under UK law to prevent Americans' images being accessed by British analysts without an individual warrant.
Optic Nerve, the documents provided by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden show, began as a prototype in 2008 and was still active in 2012, according to an internal GCHQ wiki page accessed that year.
The system, eerily reminiscent of the telescreens evoked in George Orwell's 1984, was used for experiments in automated facial recognition, to monitor GCHQ's existing targets, and to discover new targets of interest.
Such searches could be used to try to find terror suspects or criminals making use of multiple, anonymous user IDs.
One document even likened the program's "bulk access to Yahoo webcam images/events" to a massive digital police mugbook of previously arrested individuals.
"Face detection has the potential to aid selection of useful images for 'mugshots' or even for face recognition by assessing the angle of the face," it reads. "The best images are ones where the person is facing the camera with their face upright."

Prick GOP Missouri State Rep. Mike Lair insults Constitutionalists who believe in the 10th Amendment by saying we are crazy and need tin foil hats.
This dip-ship again brings up what exactly is a "Republican"? Based on what they vote for, I feel 70% of so-called "Conservative" Republicans are really radical left FDR New Dealers. The nation has moved so far to the Left that New Dealer Big Government lovers look Conservative.
Skeptical that the national Common Core standards will improve the quality of education in local schools? Then you must be a lunatic conspiracy theorist — at least according to Missouri State Rep. Mike Lair, a Republican, who set aside $8 — yes, $8 — in a recent appropriations bill to buy tin foil hats for opponents of the Common Core.
The hats will protect them from the aliens that Lair assumes they must believe in.
It may sound unbelievable, but it’s right there in the appropriations bill, according to the Columbia Daily Tribune. The $8 will be used to buy ”two rolls of high density aluminum to create headgear designed to deflect drone and/or black helicopter mind reading and control technology,” reports the Daily Caller. A summary sheet given to lawmakers in the Missouri state House of Representatives describes the $8 fund as a provision for “tin foil hats.”
The “tin foil hat” metaphor is often associated with conspiracy theorists who believe implausible things about government and science — like the existence of mind-reading technology and aliens. The mainstream left also deploys the tactic against conservatives in order to paint them as paranoid lunatics.
But this time, the insult came not from the left but from a Republican lawmaker. Lair was unapologetic. “Basically, when you deal with conspiracy theorists, you do logic first,” he said in a statement. “If you can’t deal with folks with logic, you use humor. This is to stop all the problems from the black helicopters and drones. This is high density foil.”

The NSA Police State
Amazing but not surprising. Only a small minority of the House and Senate members have signed on to prevent the NSA from collecting bulk records about people’s phone calls.
The vast bulk of both Liberals and Conservatives are openly pissing on the Bill of Rights and laughing at us knowing they are invulnerable to defeat because they are backed by a bottomless pit of special interest money.
Legislation to rein in the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs has stalled in the House and Senate.
Only 130 House lawmakers (out of 435) in both parties have signed on as co-sponsors to legislation that would prevent the NSA from collecting bulk records about people’s phone calls. In the Senate, companion legislation has only won 20 co-sponsors out of 100 Senators.
Both bills have been stuck in their chambers’ respective Judiciary Committees since October, and committee aides say there are no plans to move them soon reports The Hill.
In the House, Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) claims to be waiting for the Obama administration to take a formal position on the USA Freedom Act, authored by Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), before scheduling a markup.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) wants to see what recommendations Attorney General Eric Holder and top intelligence leaders make by a March 28 deadline set by Obama.
Next summer, the portion of the Patriot Act authorizing the NSA’s phone records collection program, known as Section 215, is set to expire. Congress will have to either reauthorize the program as-is, vote to amend it, or let it end entirely.
Last year, Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) nearly succeeded in placing an amendment to defund the NSA’s phone records program on the 2014 defense spending bill. The effort was defeated by just 12 votes on the House floor.
An Amash spokesman did not rule out trying to attach a similar amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, upcoming appropriations bills or other “must-pass” pieces of legislation.
Führer Obama now wants 141,160 rounds of sniper ammo for domestic use.
Since everyone from the NSA on is recording every word we Bloggers post I will leave any interpretation of these events up to the readers.
Thought for the Day - Every dime spent by Obama is voted for by a Liberal Democrat Senate and a Conservative "small government" GOP House. But only a "crazy" fringe person would say that the two major parties are working together to fund and build an unconstitutional Police State. It would be wrong to say that, so I won't.
The Department of Homeland Security is buying more bullets with a solicitation for over 141,000 rounds of sniper ammunition.
According to a solicitation posted on FedBizOpps, the federal agency is looking to procure 141,160 rounds of Hornady .308 Winchester 168gr A-MAX TAP ammunition.
Such ammunition is sometimes retailed as “Zombie Max,” a marketing gimmick alluding to its power reports Infowars News.
"Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here." Captain John Parker at Lexington
“What makes the .308 ammunition so deadly is the long range capability of the round,” notes James Smith. “The ability is called ballistic coefficient, or the efficiency of a projectile in overcoming air resistance as it travels to its target. According to Speer Reloading Manual Number 13, the .308 165 grain has the highest coefficient of any hunting rifle.”
The latest purchase further illustrates the fallacy of the DHS’ excuse that it is buying bullets in bulk in order to save money.
The federal agency will pay around $1.20 for each round, when a lower grain round could be acquired for around a quarter of the price.
The DHS has faced questions over the last couple of years as to the purpose of its mass ammo purchases which have totaled over 2 billion bullets, with some fearing the federal agency is gearing up for civil unrest.
The majority of the bullets purchased by the DHS were hollow point rounds (one order alone amounted to 450 million of them).
Hollow point bullets just happen to be completely unsuitable for training purposes because they cost significantly more money compared to standard firing range bullets, contradicting claims by the DHS that the bullets were merely for training purposes and were bought in bulk to save money.
Large scale DHS bulk buys have contributed to ammo shortages across the country.
Welcome to Obama's America

But the real story that the lame-stream media will not tell you is Hoffman was most likely killed by heroin exported from Afghan poppy fields protected by NATO and the U.S. Army.
Below is a must listen to interview on the phony drug war between radio host Alex Jones and former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura (Independence Party of Minnesota).
Both major parties and their lap-dog media supporters have covered up American and NATO involvement in protecting drug lords. It takes independent politicians like Ventura and Internet journalists such as Jones to tell the truth.

Last year, the war-torn Central Asian country accounted for 75 percent of the world’s opium supplies; Jean-Luc Lemahieu, head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Afghanistan, has said in the past that supplies may reach 90 percent of the global total this year.

You know that fine print you don't read? I suspect that buried somewhere in that print is you giving permission to assorted multi-national corporations to "share" your private information with the police or military.
So-called "private" companies can get around the 4th Amendment need for a search warrant and collect your data. They can then "voluntarily" share that information with the government.
The American Police State - Google has filed a patent for identifying when a “mob” event takes place by detecting when a number of cellphone videos or photos are taken at one particular location with the intention of forwarding such information to law enforcement authorities.
“When there are at least a given number of video clips with similar time stamps and geolocation stamps uploaded to a repository, it is inferred that an event of interest has likely occurred, and a notification signal is transmitted (e.g., to a law enforcement agency, to a news organization, to a publisher of a periodical, to a public blog, etc.),” states US Patent #20140025755.
The patent raises questions about what level of remote access Google or any other company should have to your cellphone, and how such information may be abused or misinterpreted to alert authorities to ‘suspicious behavior’ which is in fact completely lawful reports Infowars News.
Time and location data pertaining to photographs and videos is a feature which already exists in virtually all modern cellphones.
“Would only photos/videos you uploaded as publicly viewable be included into this system? Could you opt out? Could Google access the private content stored on your local device for these purposes?” asks Quentyn Kennemer.
Such a system could easily be exploited by law enforcement authorities for a multitude of reasons, including the surveillance and monitoring of protesters.
The potential threat to privacy and freedom that would be created if these kind of measures became commonplace is open ended. Back in 2012, Apple filed a patent allowing it to wirelessly disable cameras on iPhones by “forcing certain electronic devices to enter “sleep mode” when entering a sensitive area.”
Protests, political gatherings and other events at which authorities wish to prevent communication, documentation or video streaming could be turned into dead zones by creating a “geofence” around designated locations.
We have also seen preparations for giving police or government the power to impose a “blackout” on all communications during certain times because cellphones can “annoy, frustrate, and even threaten people in sensitive venues.”
CEO Billionaires Defend NSA
The government's defense of constant surveillance of the American public reached a new level of absurdity when Obama compared Paul Revere to the NSA. Now it's time for the corporate billionaires to defend what their puppet Obama can't. Enter Bill Gates and Marc Andreesen to tell that we need to trust the NSA and we're too stupid to understand the technology. William Binney, former Technical Director of the NSA worldwide understood the technology and has been telling us that the NSA is breaking the law.
Google has purchased a military robot company and an artificial intelligence company. Take one guess what they plan on building. Yes, people are that fucking stupid. The human race is doomed. Maybe it's for the best.
STORY #1 - Google will buy London-based artificial intelligence company DeepMind. The Information reports that the acquisition price was more than $500 million, and that Facebook was also in talks to buy the startup late last year. DeepMind confirmed the acquisition to us, but couldn’t disclose deal terms.
The acquisition was originally confirmed by Google to Re/code.
DeepMind was founded by neuroscientist Demis Hassabis, a former child prodigy in chess, Shane Legg, and Mustafa Suleyman. Skype and Kazaa developer Jaan Tallin is an investor.
This is the latest move by Google to fill out its roster of artificial intelligence experts and, according to Re/code, the acquisition was reportedly led by Google CEO Larry Page. If all three of DeepMind’s founders work for Google, they will join inventor, entrepreneur, author, and futurist Ray Kurzweil, who was hired in 2012 as a director of engineering focused on machine learning and language processing.
STORY #2 - Google's acquisition of military robotics maker Boston Dynamics has certainly gotten tongues wagging but has left one key question unanswered: Why?
Media reports about the deal didn't provide much insight other than to note that Boston Dynamics makes cool stuff. The search engine giant has named Andy Rubin, who oversaw the development of the Android operating system, to head its robotics endeavors, which the company has without irony called a "moonshot." A spokesman for Google confirmed the acquisition but declined to answer any questions.
"The deal is also the clearest indication yet that Google is intent on building a new class of autonomous systems that might do anything from warehouse work to package delivery and even elder care," according to the New York Times. . Boston Dynamics' robots such as Cheetah, which can reach speeds up to 29 miles per hour, BigDog, designed to traverse rough terrain, and the anthropomorphic PETMAN, which is designed to test chemical protection clothing, are certainly cool looking and could easily be mistaken for something coming out of a science fiction movie. The company, which is profitable, does a brisk business with the U.S. Department of Defense. It was founded in 1992 after being spun off from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
"We have had a great time building unusual robots and bringing them this far along," says Marc Raibert, the company's founder, in an email statement, adding that the entire company will stay under Google ownership. "Now we can take them to the next level and push them much further ahead."

So-called "private" companies are acting as agents for the Federal government and are collecting your DNA for "study".
A private firm with a Federal contract - and backed up by city police - forced motorists off a Pennsylvania street and into a private parking lot Friday to question them about their driving habits and ask for a DNA swab of their mouth.
A supposedly “voluntary” survey checkpoint run by a private firm in Reading, Pennsylvania on behalf of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy caused outrage when residents said they were forced off the road into a car park and coerced into giving cheek swabs as a result of an intimidating police presence.
The Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation was hired by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to run the checkpoint, during which motorists were quizzed about their driving habits reports Infowars News.
Reading resident Ricardo Nieves said that he had to repeatedly refuse to take part in the survey over a 5 minute period before the was allowed to leave. Nieves noted that the presence of city police and a police car with flashing lights was designed to “intimidate motorists” into submission and “gave the checkpoint an air of authority it would not otherwise have had,” according to the Reading Eagle.
Nieves told the City Council Monday that the company’s hiring of police officers to help run the checkpoint was “a gross abuse of power on many levels” and that the firm running it refused to divulge why they were demanding to take swabs of people’s cheeks, with Nieves asserting, “Clearly it was for DNA.”
City Police Chief William M. Heim later remarked that the cheek swabs were to test for the presence of prescription drugs, dismissing Nieves’ assertion that the police presence was coercive by claiming, “People are not pressured by police presence to do something they don’t want to.”
“Our rights are being violated more and more every day, it’s another way of government intrusion into our lives,” said Councilman Dennis M. Sterner, complaining that local police were unable to pick up local drug dealers after years of investigations, yet were perfectly happy to pull over motorists on a whim.
“A car driver or passenger cannot be required or pressured into providing a DNA sample and, in fact, can’t be stopped at all except on suspicion of a crime or for a properly conducted sobriety checkpoint,” Mary Catherine Roper, senior staff attorney for the ACLU of Pennsylvania, told the newspaper.
However, this hasn’t stopped police across the country running the supposedly “voluntary” checkpoints at the behest of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which in some cases involve the collection of not just saliva but blood too.
Motorists in Fort Worth who were subjected to the same program also complained that the checkpoint did not seem voluntary at all and that police forced them to pull over. It also emerged that even without consent, police were taking “passive alcohol sensor readings” from drivers.
“The NHTSA defended these non-stops by stating everything was “voluntary” and that law enforcement officers were only on hand for “safety” reasons. But the passive alcohol test wasn’t voluntary. And the officers never bothered to point out stopping was voluntary until after the test subjects had actually stopped,” reports TechDirt.

Everyone in favor of a Police State raise your hand
Drivers along a busy North Fort Worth street on Friday were stopped at police roadblock and directed into a parking lot, where they were asked by federal contractors for samples of their breath, saliva and even blood.
It was part of a government research "study" aimed at determining the number of drunken or drug-impaired drivers.
"It just doesn't seem right that you can be forced off the road when you're not doing anything wrong," said Kim Cope, who said she was on her lunch break when she was forced to pull over at the roadblock on Beach Street reports NBC News Dallas.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is spending $7.9 million on the survey over three years, said participation was "100 percent voluntary" and anonymous.
But Cope said it didn't feel voluntary to her -- despite signs saying it was.
"I gestured to the guy in front that I just wanted to go straight, but he wouldn't let me and forced me into a parking spot," she said.
Cops collect DNA samples at roadblocks
Both parties in Congress are funding the Obama regime collection of DNA at 60 police checkpoints around the country.
Once parked, she couldn't believe what she was asked next.
"They were asking for cheek swabs," she said. "They would give $10 for that. Also, if you let them take your blood, they would pay you $50 for that."
At the very least, she said, they wanted to test her breath for alcohol.
She said she felt trapped.
"I finally did the Breathalyzer test just because I thought that would be the easiest way to leave," she said, adding she received no money.
Fort Worth police Sgt. Kelly Peel said he could not immediately locate any record of Fort Worth officers being involved in the roadblock but said he was still checking Monday evening.
A spokesman for nearby Haltom City police said his department was not involved.
NBC DFW confirmed that the survey was done by a government contractor, the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, which is based in Calverton, Md.
A company spokeswoman referred questions to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. .
An agency spokeswoman sent an email confirming the government is conducting the surveys in 30 cities across the country in an effort to reduce impaired-driving accidents.
She did not respond to another email from NBC DFW asking specific questions about the program..
. But a Fort Worth attorney who is an expert in civil liberties law questioned whether such stops are constitutional.
"You can't just be pulled over randomly or for no reason," said attorney Frank Colosi.
He also noted the fine print on a form given to drivers informs them their breath was tested by "passive alcohol sensor readings before the consent process has been completed."
"They're essentially lying to you when they say it's completely voluntary, because they're testing you at that moment," Colosi said.
He also questioned the results of the "voluntary" survey -- speculating that drivers who had been drinking or using drugs would be more inclined to simply decline to participate.
Cope said she is troubled by what happened.
"It just doesn't seem right that they should be able to do any of it," she said. "If it's voluntary, it's voluntary, and none of it felt voluntary."
Exposing Internal Checkpoints
Unconstitutional internal Federal checkpoints 100 miles from the Mexico border deep in the state of Texas. The Bill of Rights and the 4th Amendment has no meaning.
Fully funded by the Democrat Senate and the GOP House, the DHS is building a domestic 1984 Police Surveillance State network to spy on every American 24 hours a day without a search warrant.
Liberals pretend to be for the "little guy" while Conservatives pretend to be for "small government". But both sides are frightened to death of a free American people.
(UPDATE - Following a privacy outcry concerning a wi-fi “mesh network” being installed, the Seattle Police Department announced last night that it is temporarily deactivating the network.)
Police State - The Seattle Police have installed a network of 160 wireless "white box" access points that are mounted on poles across the city. Every time a cell phone or other device looks for a Wi-Fi signal the white box recognizes it and stores that data for future use. The network can record the last 1,000 locations of a person using their cellphone’s MAC address.
The network was bought with a Department of Homeland Security grant for $2.6 million reports KIRO 7 TV News.
This is a system that could lead to the permanent tracking of an entire city’s population.
"They now own a piece of equipment that has tracking capabilities so we think that they should be going to City Council and presenting a protocol for the whole network that says they won't be using it for surveillance purposes," said Jamela Debelak of the American Civil Liberties Union.
"We believe that people should be free to move about without having the government track their movements unless there really is reason to believe they're engaged in some criminal activity," said Debelak. Seattle police could not explain why the network appears to be online.
A report by The Stranger, a weekly Seattle newspaper, exposes how the boxes, which are attached to utility poles and include vertical antennae, can track cellphones even if they are not connected to the system’s wi-fi network.
Aruba – the company that provided the boxes to the Seattle Police Department – brags in its technical literature about how the boxes can keep track of “rogue” or “unassociated” devices, in other words your cellphone even if you have refused to let the system access your device’s wi-fi component.
The user’s guide for one of Aruba’s recent software products states: “The wireless network has a wealth of information about unassociated and associated devices.” That software includes “a location engine that calculates associated and unassociated device location every 30 seconds by default… The last 1,000 historical locations are stored for each MAC address.”
When reporters Matt Fikse-Verkerk and Brendan Kiley asked the Seattle Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security to explain what the boxes were for, the DHS refused to comment and Seattle Police detective Monty Moss would only state that the department “is not comfortable answering policy questions when we do not yet have a policy.”
