GOP backs Dream Act in Washington state

What the Fuck?
Shit, let's just fire all the border patrol agents and invite everyone on earth to come on in and make themselves at home!

Washington state lawmakers have voted to make students brought to the United States illegally by their parents eligible for need-based college financial aid.

Passage of the measure, which supporters have labeled the Dream Act after failed U.S. legislation of 2010, marks a victory for immigrant-rights advocates and a shift within the state Republican party, whose members have blocked similar measures in recent years.

The bill, which passed the House by 75 to 22 votes on Tuesday, goes next to Governor Jay Inslee, a Democrat, who has promised to sign it. States that have enacted similar measures include California, Illinois, and Texas reports Newsmax.

"This bill ensures that the young men and women we've invested in at our high schools and who aspire to become productive American citizens will now have fair access to the financial support they need," Inslee said in a statement.

As recently as last month, Republicans in the state Senate - a chamber the party controls with the backing of two dissident Democrats - dismissed the measure's prospects as dim, saying it was low on their list of priorities.

But several of these lawmakers late last month introduced a version of the bill they labeled the Real Hope Act. That measure passed the chamber by a 35-10 vote, with unanimous Democratic support, Republicans split 10-10, and four Republicans abstaining.

In recent years, immigrant-rights advocates and Democratic lawmakers in Washington state have pushed similar measures, which were blocked by Republicans on the grounds they put undocumented immigrants on a level playing field with citizens.

The measure includes $5 million in additional State Need Grant funding, which some estimates suggest is enough to cover the roughly 1,000 undocumented immigrants the bill would make eligible for the aid.

Those immigrants will not be guaranteed help, however, as the new money will go into the existing statewide pot available to all eligible students.

In the 2012-2013 school year, roughly 32,000 otherwise qualified applicants were denied the aid because of a lack of funds, while 74,000 students received assistance, according to a non-partisan legislative staff report.

Socialist sworn in on Seattle City Council

Socialist Kshama Sawant
Because Democrats are just too
damn Conservative.

A former community college professor who won a surprising citywide election was sworn in Monday as the first socialist City Council member in Seattle’s modern history.

Kshama Sawant of the Socialist Alternative Party took her oath and served in her first hearing, then gave a speech to throngs of supporters in a ceremonial swearing-in at a packed City Hall.

“I will do my utmost to represent the disenfranchised and the excluded, the poor and the oppressed, by fighting for a $15-an-hour minimum wage, affordable housing, and taxing the super-rich for a massive expansion of public transit and education,” said Sawant, 41 reports The Olympian.

Even in this liberal city, Sawant’s win surprised many. The incumbent, Richard Conlin, was backed by the political establishment. But bolstered by a grass-roots campaign that harped on economic inequality, Sawant toppled the 16-year incumbent.

“Here in Seattle, political pundits are asking about me: Will she compromise? Can she work with others? Of course, I will meet and discuss with representatives of the establishment. But when I do, I will bring the needs and aspirations of working-class people to every table I sit at, no matter who is seated across from me,” she said.

But just days into the new year, Seattle's new mayor, Ed Murray, has already had a public spat with Sawant. Last week, Murray issued an executive order to raise the minimum wage for city workers to $15 an hour, a move that would affect about 600 workers. Sawant was quoted in The Seattle Times as saying she that Murray's move "shows the mayor's office is feeling the pressure from below to act on the rhetoric from the campaign."

"I wear the badge of socialist with honor," she exclaimed.

Seattle City Council staff estimate she's the first socialist to be elected to office in 100 years.

College gives you seven gender choices - Then Big Brother will track your "progress"

Big Brother is obsessed with Sex
  • All government community and technical colleges in Washington state will track your education based on your private sexual preferences.
  • Big Brother claims the information they collect is "private", that they would never share it with other government agencies.  I can smell these Bullshit lies right through the Internet.

(From My Northwest.com)  -  Recently, Ron’s wife was filling out an application for Bellevue College when she noticed something interesting. Instead of the standard “Male” and “Female” boxes that one checks on applications, there was the question: What is your ‘gender identity’?
So-called "educators" are perhaps the most
fucking stupid people on earth.

And seven different options: Feminine, Masculine, Androgynous, Gender Neutral, Transgender, Other and Prefer Not To Answer.

Under that is the question: “What is your sexual orientation?” Where you can then check
  • Bisexual
  • Gay
  • Lesbian
  • Queer
  • Straight/Heterosexual
  • Other???????
  • Prefer not to answer

After Ron showed us the application, we wondered why they were collecting this data. So I went down to Bellevue College and got some answers from the LGBTQ Center adviser, Colin Donovan.

“We started collecting the data this fall quarter. It’s about being able to track how well GLBTQ, and gender variant students, are doing in school and how we can design better services, better classes, better programs to make sure these students succeed. Up until this point there has been no way to track how that’s done.”

The data is 100 percent private and not shared with anyone, and for now will only be used internally.

This new data collecting system was accepted by all community and technical colleges in Washington state.

Petri Muhlhauser is involved in the school’s LGBTQ Center leadership program. She says sometimes LGBTQ students have different needs.

Socialist Councilwoman urges Boeing workers to physically seize factories

The Rise of American Communism
The American Left has become so extreme that
FDR's New Dealers look like Conservatives.

Seattle City Councilmember-elect Kshama Sawant told Boeing machinists her idea of a radical option, should their jobs be moved out of state.

“The workers should take over the factories, and shut down Boeing’s profit-making machine,” Sawant announced to a cheering crowd of union supporters in Seattle’s Westlake Park Monday night.

This week, Sawant became Seattle’s first elected Socialist council member. She ran on a platform of anti-capitalism, workers’ rights, and a $15 per-hour minimum wage for Seattle workers.

On Monday night, she spoke to supporters of Boeing Machinists, six days after they rejected a contract guaranteeing jobs in Everett building the new 777X airliner for eight years, in exchange for new workers giving up their guaranteed company pensions reports KIRO TV.

Now Boeing is threatening to take those jobs to other states. “That will be nothing short of economic terrorism because it’s going to devastate the state’s economy,” she said.

Sawant is calling for machinists to literally take-possession of the Everett airplane-building factory, if Boeing moves out. She calls that “democratic ownership.”

“The only response we can have if Boeing executives do not agree to keep the plant here is for the machinists to say the machines are here, the workers are here, we will do the job, we don't need the executives. The executives don’t do the work, the machinists do,” she said.

Sawant says after workers “take-over” the Everett Boeing plant; they could build things everyone can use.

“We can re-tool the machines to produce mass transit like buses, instead of destructive, you know, war machines,” she told KIRO 7.

Sawant says she was referring to “drones” when speaking of war machines. Still, she says even as they work on the lines, building airplanes daily, she believes Boeing workers are under siege.

“Workers have to realize, they have more power than they think,” she said.

Seattle elects a Socialist to City Council

From each according to their ability
"I don't think socialism makes most people in Seattle afraid."

The People's Republic of Seattle  -  Why vote Socialist?  Because Democrats are just too damn moderate.  Welcome to the new America.

Seattle voters have elected a socialist to city council for the first time in modern history.
Kshama Sawant's lead continued to grow on Friday, prompting 16-year incumbent Richard Conlin to concede.

Even in this liberal city, Sawant's win has surprised many here. Conlin was backed by the city's political establishment. On election night, she trailed by four percentage points. She wasn't a veteran politician, having only run in one previous campaign.

But in the days following election night, Sawant's share of the votes outgrew Conlin's.

"I don't think socialism makes most people in Seattle afraid," Conlin said Friday reports the Associated Press.

While city council races are technically non-partisan, Sawant made sure people knew she was running as a socialist — a label that would be politically poisonous in many parts of the country.

Sawant, a 41-year-old college economics professor, first drew attention as part of local Occupy Wall Street protests that included taking over a downtown park and a junior college campus in late 2011.

She then ran for legislative office in 2012, challenging the powerful speaker of the state House, a Democrat. She was easily defeated.

This year, though, she pushed a platform that resonated with the city.

She backed:
  • raise the minimum wage to $15
  • called for rent control
  • supports a tax on millionaires to help fund a public transit system and other services.

"I will reach out to the people who supported Richard Conlin, working with everyone in Seattle to fight for a minimum wage of $15 (an) hour, affordable housing, and the needs of ordinary people," Sawant said in a statement.

During her campaign, she condemned economic inequality, contending that some people aren't benefiting from the city's declining jobless rate, ongoing recovery from the recession, and downtown building boom.

"She's passionate about her values," Conlin said.

Research showed no socialist candidate had won a citywide office in the past 100 years. The last socialist candidate to make it into the general election was in 1991 and was defeated, said Scott Cline, the city's archivist.

1984 Tracking Boxes in Seattle - Fully funded by the DHS

Big Brother tracking boxes in Seattle.

DHS Tracking Boxes in Seattle
  • Fully funded by the Democrat Senate and the GOP House, the DHS is building a domestic 1984 Police Surveillance State network to spy on every American 24 hours a day without a search warrant.
  • Liberals pretend to be for the "little guy" while Conservatives pretend to be for "small government".  But both sides are frightened to death of a free American people.

(UPDATE  -  Following a privacy outcry concerning a wi-fi “mesh network” being installed, the Seattle Police Department announced last night that it is temporarily deactivating the network.)

Police State  -  The Seattle Police have installed a network of 160 wireless "white box" access points that are mounted on poles across the city.  Every time a cell phone or other device looks for a Wi-Fi signal the white box recognizes it and stores that data for future use.  The network can record the last 1,000 locations of a person using their cellphone’s MAC address.

The network was bought with a Department of Homeland Security grant for $2.6 million reports KIRO 7 TV News.

This is a system that could lead to the permanent tracking of an entire city’s population.

"They now own a piece of equipment that has tracking capabilities so we think that they should be going to City Council and presenting a protocol for the whole network that says they won't be using it for surveillance purposes," said Jamela Debelak of the American Civil Liberties Union.

"We believe that people should be free to move about without having the government track their movements unless there really is reason to believe they're engaged in some criminal activity," said Debelak. Seattle police could not explain why the network appears to be online.

A report by The Stranger, a weekly Seattle newspaper, exposes how the boxes, which are attached to utility poles and include vertical antennae, can track cellphones even if they are not connected to the system’s wi-fi network.

Aruba – the company that provided the boxes to the Seattle Police Department – brags in its technical literature about how the boxes can keep track of “rogue” or “unassociated” devices, in other words your cellphone even if you have refused to let the system access your device’s wi-fi component.
The user’s guide for one of Aruba’s recent software products states: “The wireless network has a wealth of information about unassociated and associated devices.” That software includes “a location engine that calculates associated and unassociated device location every 30 seconds by default… The last 1,000 historical locations are stored for each MAC address.”
When reporters Matt Fikse-Verkerk and Brendan Kiley asked the Seattle Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security to explain what the boxes were for, the DHS refused to comment and Seattle Police detective Monty Moss would only state that the department “is not comfortable answering policy questions when we do not yet have a policy.”

Washington State cops bust bikini coffee baristas

Oh the Horror!  Bikinis and Coffee at the same time.
The Washington Morality Police arrest people
for daring to have a good time.

By Eric Dondero
From The Libertarian Republican

Guess there's no more serious crimes to solve any more in metro-Seattle. No murders, rapes, thefts, burglaries.  Nah, much better for cops to spend their time and precious tax dollars on ruining a little entertainment for working class white guys on their way home from a hard day's work at the plant or shipyard.

Fox News reports, "3 bikini baristas arrested at Washington coffee stand":

The service at a bikini espresso stand in Washington state was a little too hot, according to police. Three baristas at the Hillbilly Hotties coffee stand in Everett (just north of Seattle), were arrested Wednesday on charges of lewd conduct and violating the city’s adult cabaret law.

Police spokesman Aaron Snell told KOMO that authorities received complaints the women were exposing body parts and that “inappropriate things” were being done at the location. A 20-year-old and 21-year-old are facing ch  arges of violating the city's adult cabaret law. A 33-year-old was arrested for investigation of lewd conduct.

“There was a definite sense of they were willing to do more for extra money, and the way they carried themselves with male customers when they were in front of me,” Jennifer Faris, who buys coffee at a nearby stand, told KOMO.

Translation: They flashed a few patrons, Mardi Gras style, as if that's going to cause the downfall of the Republic.

Note - Washington State is entirely run by Democrats top to bottom, with the exception of a split 50/50 lower House. Governor, Senators, almost all the Congressmen, State Senate, virtually all elected local municipal officials in major cities, like Seattle and Tacoma.

And of course, as we all know, white guys with a job are a politically incorrect constituency.  So, why not bust 'em and the women that give them a little entertainment served up with their coffee.  No political fallout there, like there would be for arresting Trayvon Martin-like urban Seattle/Everett youth.

People are frightened of Freedom.
It does not matter what race, culture or religion you are, so many people around the world are frightened to death that someone, somewhere, somehow might be having a good time without the written permission of the All-Powerful Police State.

Bikinis and coffee - and the problem is????
