SOCIALISM - 28% Unemployment Rate for Greece

In this 2012 photo youth unemployment was "only" 50.4%.
All the European bailouts only made it worse.

61.4% Greek Youth Unemployment
  • Europe is a corrupt blend of big government Socialism and Mussolini Corporatism.  The official policy is to drive governments like Greece deeper and deeper into debt with international bankers, crush their economies and force them, as debt slaves, to obey their Masters in Brussels.

Greece’s unemployment rate has hit new highs.

Even amid tentative signs of economic recovery in the country, there is no let up in the pace of job shedding.

Economists expect things to get worse in the early part of this year as companies continue to restructure and fire workers reports Euronews.

One Greek jobseeker explained that the only thing available for most people is temporary, government-funded work.

She said: “We certainly don’t see any positive signs, nothing to indicate that there are jobs. Everyone’s looking, but there are just these programmes that last for five months, but then you’re out of work again. You have a break from being on the dole, but it’s just for five, or at most six months depending on the programme.”

The latest figures that have been released are for November 2013.

Overall unemployment inched up to 28 percent. It had been 27 percent a year earlier and 27.7 percent in October.

The youth jobless total reached 61.4 percent in November, up a full two percent from November 2012.

Though life remains extremely difficult for millions, with 14 percent of the Greeks living in extreme poverty according to a survey carried out late last year, Greece’s austerity-fuelled economic slump is starting to ease.

There have been improvements in retail sales, manufacturing activity and construction, but that is a long way from feeding through into substantial job creation.

Symela Touchtidou, the euronews business reporter in Athens, concluded: “The Greek government is preparing to borrow on the international markets for the first time in four years. A successful auction of bonds would mean Greece becoming the latest country to exit the bailout program.

Jeff Sessions - The GOP Should Stand With Struggling Workers Not Illegal Aliens

Senator Jeff Sessions
  • "We need to move Americans off of welfare and into good-paying jobs—not replace them with lower-wage workers from abroad."  - - - Jeff Sessions

Senator Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.), ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee and a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, came to the defense of American workers this week:
“The arguments compiled by FWD.us pushing for a massive surge in new workers from abroad have ignored the overwhelming literature, including broad research by the Congressional Budget Office, demonstrating that such a plan would reduce wages and job prospects for millions of struggling workers living here today.
The White House and Senate Democrats have embraced a plan that not only allows illegal immigration to continue indefinitely, but proposes to double the flow of new legal immigrant workers and triple the number of mostly lesser-skilled immigrants who will be given green cards. Unfortunately, it seems several House leaders are contemplating a similar approach.
We need to move Americans off of welfare and into good-paying jobs—not replace them with lower-wage workers from abroad. Gene Sperling has said there are three jobseekers for every one job opening. Has anyone asked the American people whether they want these large increases to current record immigration levels now being proposed?
Lawmakers must decide who they represent: immigration activists and powerful interests, or millions of struggling and unemployed Americans. Republicans have an opportunity to stand alone as the one party dutifully representing the legitimate interests of the American worker. They should seize it. They should boldly and unapologetically articulate policies that end the lawlessness and advance the national interest.”
(National Review)

It's bad politics, Jeff Sessions writes. "In the rush to pass an immigration bill, there has been a near absence of any serious thought about the conditions facing American workers. The last 40 years has been a period of record immigration to the U.S., with the last 10 years seeing more new arrivals than any prior 10- year period in history. This trend has coincided with wage stagnation, enormous growth in welfare programs, and a shrinking workforce participation rate. A sensible, conservative approach would focus on lifting those living here today, both immigrant and native-born, out of poverty and into the middle class—before doubling or tripling the level of immigration into the U.S."

"A sensible immigration policy would also listen to the opinion of the American people. Not the opinions of the paid-for consultants trotted out with their agenda-driven polls to GOP member meetings—but the actual, honest opinion of the people who sent us here. There is a reason why none of the corporate-funded ads for amnesty breathe a word about doubling immigration levels. According to Rasmussen Reports, working and middle class Americans strongly oppose large expansions of our already generous immigration system. Those earning under $30,000 prefer a reduction to an increase by an overwhelming 3-1 margin."

GOP wants to import 50,000 immigrants into Detroit

GOP Idiots on Parade
  • Why employ American citizens?  The Michigan GOP wants to ship in 50,000 immigrants on free unearned VISAs and let them do the work instead for 1/2 the price.

Gary Rule #1  -  People are fucking idiots.

Really now, is it possible for the Republican Party to be even more stupid?

GOP Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will announced a plan to ask the Obama administration to set aside thousands of work visas to entice talented immigrants to live and work in bankrupt Detroit.

The Republican governor told The Associated Press in an interview he is seeking 50,000 work visas solely for the city over five years. The type of visas involved currently are not allocated by region or state, and go to legal immigrants with advanced degrees or who show exceptional ability in certain fields.

Under his unique proposal, one-quarter of the country’s 40,000 annual EB-2 visas would be designated for such immigrants willing to live and work for five years in Detroit, home to the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history and whose neighborhoods have been hollowed out by the city’s long population decline.

“This is very exciting. If you look at one of the key opportunities to accelerate the comeback of Detroit, it would really be this program,” Snyder said in an interview Wednesday after announcing planned legislation to commit state aid to shore up Detroit pension funds and prevent the sale of valuable city-owned art in bankruptcy proceedings.

Snyder unveiled the immigration plan this morning at the offices of the IDEAL Group, a family-owned manufacturing and construction company in Detroit whose founder is the grandson of Mexican immigrants. Mayor Mike Duggan, city council members and other community leaders also attended.

The governor said the proposal would require no federal financial bailout.

"This involves working with immigration rules and visa limits," he said. "Here's a non-cash way to significantly accelerate the comeback of Detroit. Why wouldn't this be a great thing?"

Business in a giant push for immigration reform

Unemployed?
The politicians could care less

Bend Over  -  Immigration "reform" is coming.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce spent more than $50 million on lobbying last year as it pushed for action on "immigration reform".

Translation - Business owners are not staying up all night crying over little illegal alien children.  They want to flood the job market with 30 million newly "legalized" workers, totally fuck over American citizens and drive wages down.

Typically the biggest K Street spender in Washington, the business group funneled about $52.7 million toward lobbying efforts in 2013, according to disclosure records. In the last quarter of the year, the group spent almost $16.5 million.

Some of that money went toward lobbying on immigration reform, which is a top legislative priority for the business community reports The Hill.

The Chamber played an instrumental role in getting a comprehensive immigration reform bill through the Senate last year by helping the “Gang of Eight” reach a deal with labor unions on temporary worker visas.

Chamber President and CEO Tom Donohue said earlier this month that the business group “will pull out all the stops” to see that immigration legislation makes it to President Obama’s desk by the end of the year.

"We're determined to make 2014 the year that immigration reform is finally enacted," Dononhue said.

The business lobby is also planning a vigorous campaign to help business-friendly candidates in the midterm elections, and has vowed to protect some incumbent lawmakers from Tea Party challengers.

Endless Immigration  -  The GOP does not get it.

An insane GOP House bill a year ago would give 55,000 green cards a year to import doctoral and masters graduates into the US to take jobs from American citizens.

Idiot House Republicans worried about their poor showing among Hispanics in the U.S. presidential election are planning a vote next week on immigration legislation that would both expand visas for foreign science and technology students  The bill would also make it easier for those with green cards to bring their immediate families to the U.S.

Apparently the agony of tens of millions of unemployed American citizens in serious pain did not enter into the minds of the moron GOP leadership.

"Black Americans need not apply."
The youth unemployment rate for African Americans is 28.2% and for Hispanic American youth it is 21%.  But politicians from both parties ignore Black and Hispanic Americans and import workers who are citizens of foreign nations.

The real unemployment rate is 23%.
The seasonally-adjusted SGS Alternate Unemployment Rate (blue line) reflects current unemployment reporting methodology adjusted for SGS-estimated long-term discouraged workers, who were defined out of official existence in 1994. Obama Recovery - 1,600 apply for 36 job openings

1,600 Desperate Job Seekers
  • Leftist Socialist Democrat economic stupidity crushes business.
  • Add to the mix that Democrats want to import millions of new poor voters (who need jobs) and Republicans bow down to their corporate masters and work to import cheap labor to drive down wages.
  • If you are an American citizen you are fucked no matter who you vote for.

Working at an ice cream plant does not pay very well.  But at least it beats flipping burgers or stocking shelves at Wal-Mart.  And in this economy, there is no shortage of desperate workers that are willing to take just about any job that they can find.

Thanks to persistent unemployment and low availability of low-skill jobs, Shenandoah Family Farms’ ice cream plant in Hagerstown, Maryland has received over 1,600 applicants for a grand total of 36 jobs.

Many of those applicants are former workers at the Good Humor plant that was bought by Shenandoah Family Farms.

“You’d think that after 20-some-years working someplace at least somebody would think you area a good person, that you’d show up on time every day, and that would be worth something,” Luther Brooks, a 50-year-old former worker at the plant told the Washington Post.  “I can’t get nothing. I’ve tried.”

Wall Street is booming, the Federal Reserve is paring back its stimulus, there are bidding wars for houses again, but for blue-collar workers in places like Hagerstown the economic recovery has yet to materialize, and many around town worry that it won’t. Laid-off workers are living week-to-week on unemployment. They’re working temp jobs and trying to reeducate themselves. They are trying to save their houses from foreclosure.

A handful of former workers have gotten lucky, returning to their old jobs as the plant begins production later this month. They won’t earn as much as they did before, but they aren’t complaining. One rehired worker — and his boss — spoke on the condition of anonymity. He is being inundated with pleas for help landing jobs from former colleagues.

The country lost 6 million factory jobs between 2000 and 2009, and in Maryland, the job losses have been catastrophic. There were about 172,000 manufacturing jobs in the state in 2000, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics; today there are about 104,000, a nearly 40 percent drop.

In the Hagerstown area, which once produced airplanes, pipe organs and leather car seats, there were roughly 14,000 factory jobs in 2000. Today: about 8,000.

Random Thoughts - Americans Used To Work

January 1937
"Part of the family of a migrant fruit worker from Tennessee, camped near the packinghouse in Winter Haven, Florida."  35mm nitrate negative by Arthur Rothstein for the Farm Security Administration.  Translation:  Americans of European heritage used to pick crops.

These pictures struck me.

Back in the olden days, before the welfare state, Americans of all ethnic backgrounds worked on farms.  Hell, my Mom picked crops in Iowa on the family farm.

But today businesses bribe Democrat and Republican politicians with campaign cash to pay welfare to Americans not to work (at American wages) and then to import foreigners at lower wages to fill an artificially created "labor shortage".

As 2014 progresses the political liars talk about immigration "reform".  But remember 80% of that reform is all about importing and legalizing millions of new workers to compete directly against Americans for a limited number of jobs and to drive wages down.

Pelosi - Obama should halt deportations of illegals

"If somebody is here without sufficient documentation, that is not reason for deportation."
House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi privately has urged the Obama administration to halt deportations for some illegal immigrants, saying that President Obama needs to use more “discretion” to reduce the number of people he’s kicking out of the country.

In an interview with Telemundo over the weekend, Pelosi said that just being in the country illegally is not enough of a reason to be deported, and she said illegal immigrants must have something more serious on their records.

“Our view of the law is that it — if somebody is here without sufficient documentation, that is not reason for deportation,” she said in the interview, which an immigrant-rights group posted on its website. “If somebody has broken the law, committed a felony or something, that’s a different story,” reports the Washington Times.

Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s spokesman, said her comments are “a restatement of her long-held belief that being an undocumented immigrant is not a basis for deportation.”

He said Pelosi would prefer, however, to pass a new law legalizing illegal immigrants in order to clear up the legal status.

Federal law generally does say that those who are in the country without authorization — either because they jumped the border or have overstayed their visas — are deportable.

But Obama has claimed broad discretion to decide whom to deport out of the 11 million illegal immigrants estimated to be in the country, arguing that Congress only appropriated enough money to deport about 400,000 people a year and so he must pick and choose whom to deport.

Homeland Security officials argue that nearly all of those they deport do meet one of their priority categories of having a criminal record or having previously been deported and returned to the U.S. in violation of that removal.

Democrats Screw African Americans
Insane liberal Democrats bow down and worship illegal aliens and hand over American jobs to the citizens of foreign nations.  Democrats are telling unemployed American citizens of African, Hispanic or European heritage to go fuck themselves.

Domino's Pizza wants to import workers to keep wages low

21% UK Youth Unemployment Rate
With massive British unemployment, Dominos wants to import foreigners instead of raising wages to attract workers.

Businesses are the same the world over.  Instead of paying workers market wages, they pressure the politicians to grant them "special exemptions" to import the citizens of foreign nations in order to drive down wages.

In addition, taxpayers effectively subsidize these low wage workers with public welfare benefits.

Domino's Pizza, the Britain's biggest pizza delivery firm, should pay better wages if it is struggling to fill job vacancies rather than seeking a relaxation of immigration rules, said a British government minister.

The chief executive of Domino's British franchise, Lance Batchelor, told the London Evening Standard newspaper this week that his firm was struggling to find workers after a tightening of immigration rules.

Batchelor had appealed to the government to allow his firm to bring in unskilled workers from outside the EU, saying Domino's could hire 1,000 workers immediately.

"He should perhaps pay his staff a little more and then he might find it easier to recruit them ... He runs a profitable business, he should pay what the market demands," said Mark Harper, the government minister in charge of immigration.

"I don't think that we should import relatively unskilled labor from outside the European Union just so that he (Batchelor) can keep his wages low," Harper told a parliamentary committee on Tuesday.

Domino's is a franchise of U.S. group Domino's Pizza Inc, operating around 800 stores in Britain and Ireland, employing more than 23,000 staff. It aims to open 50 new branches per year.

The group reported pretax profit of 46.7 million pounds in 2012, up 10.8 percent.

A company spokesman said that due to the company's franchise structure, he was not able to provide data on rates of pay. He declined to comment further.

Mark Zuckerberg says immigration is a "Civil Right" - and cheap labor is good too!

Bullshit Alert
Another Billionaire for Poverty . . . Your Poverty.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said Sunday that U.S. immigration reform is “one of the biggest civil rights issues of our time.”

Shit.  Now illegal and legal immigration is a fucking "Civil Right".

The 29-year-old billionaire, who has recently taken a more active role in calling for immigration reform, made the comment on ABC’s “This Week.” And he was immediately challenged by the interviewer, who suggested many Americans would likely disagree that providing a path to citizenship for some of the 11 million people living in this country illegally is a civil rights issue.

“There are a lot of misconceptions about that,” Zuckerberg responded. “A lot of them came here because they just want to work. They want to help out their families and they want to contribute,” reports Fox News.

Zuckerberg recently founded the group FWD.us with other Silicon Valley leaders “to promote policies to keep the United States and its citizens competitive in a global economy,” according to its website.

FWD.us’ key points include securing borders, the path to citizenship and support for issuing more H-1B visas.

The group argues the change will “attract the world’s best and the brightest workers.”

However, skeptics argue that allowing U.S. employers to "temporarily" hire more educated foreign workers for skilled jobs or “specialty occupations” in such fields as technology and engineering allows companies like Facebook to hire lower-paid immigrants over college-educated Americans.

Americans Need Jobs
Billionaire assholes like Zuckerberg want to import and legalize countless millions of new workers from foreign nations to compete with Americans for a limited number of jobs and drive wages down.
.
Both political parties join with Zuckerberg in this madness.  The Democrats in order to recruit new poor voters and the GOP to serve their Masters in the business community looking for cheap labor.  Both parties could care less about the under and unemployed American citizen.

Roger Daltrey: ‘I will never forgive Labour for their immigration policies’

Roger Daltrey, The Who frontman, says that he is angry that Labour's mass immigration policies have taken jobs from his friends

This sounds so, so familiar.  -  Politicians around the world are all the same.  They want to pay back their backers in the business community by allowing nearly unlimited immigration in order to drive down wages.  The native born citizens are usually called "racists" for daring to want to be employed in the nation of their birth instead of handing over their jobs to immigrants.

Roger Daltrey, the lead singer of The Who, says he will never forgive Labour for their mass immigration policies as he says they “destroyed the jobs of my mates”.

The musician, who once supported the party, says that they have let down his generation by allowing an influx of workers which resulted in jobs being undercut because of “stupid thinking on Europe”.
.
It is the immigrants who get wrongly blamed for the problems, Daltrey says, when actually it was a political mistake which caused them.

"I will never, ever forgive the Labour party for allowing this mass immigration with no demands put on what people should be paid when they come to this country. I will never forgive them for destroying the jobs of my mates, because they allowed their jobs to be undercut with stupid thinking on Europe, letting them all in, so they can live 10 to a room, working for Polish wages,” he told the Sunday Times magazine reports the UK Telegraph.

Roger in the olden days.

“I've got nothing against the Poles at all, but that was a political mistake and it made me very angry. And the people who get it in the neck are the immigrants, and it's not their fault."

He refused to rule out voting for Nigel Farage in the election, saying that at the moment he does not who will get his support.

Daltrey, 69, grew up in working class Shepherd's Bush, west London, and is fiercely proud of his roots.

He has spoken out about the impact of immigration on the British working classes before, claiming two years ago that the coalition did not “have the balls” to tackle the problem.

This time his attack is aimed directly at Labour and the European Union, the bureaucracy of which he says that he “can’t stand”, adding: “It’s detrimental to the whole place”.

The singer also criticised politicians over their use of social networking sites, particularly Twitter, asking how they find the time to come up with mundane postings when they should be concentrating on running the country.

“I find it really worrying that politicians tweet. That really worries the fuck out of me,” he said.

“They should be sitting there thinking about doing a good job rather than telling us what they had for breakfast or what colour suit they're wearing.”

Modern technology has taken the joy out of life, he says, and we got more done before the invention of smartphones.

“We're just busy doing nothing now”, said Daltrey, who runs a trout fishery at his home in East Sussex. “We've got no time to contemplate, no time to dream.”

China wants robots to replace human workers

Commerce is our goal here at Tyrell. "More human than human" is our motto.
Blade Runner

The Droids are Taking Our Jobs
  • We are looking at a brave new world of a massive and permanent unemployment of countless millions of people and ever increasing poverty caused by computers, the Internet and robotics.
  • In China more than 60 percent of the enterprises surveyed have reduced production line employees by at least 10% using robotics.  While 16 percent of the firms have cut their production jobs by more than 30%.
  • Best of all, robots do not form unions, take vacations or want pay raises.

Zhejiang province is to invest 500 billion yuan ($82 billion) over the next five years to encourage manufacturers to adopt more robots to overcome the short supply and high cost of labor.

The program is underway and will help at least 5,000 companies a year, a source with the investment division of the Zhejiang Economic and Information Commission told China Daily, without giving details.

Replacing humans with robots is the most effective way to tackle the labor shortage and rising labor costs, the commission said reports China Daily.

From 2005 to 2012, average labor costs in Zhejiang, a hub for private manufacturing enterprises, almost tripled from 14,847 yuan to 41,370 yuan a year, with an annual increase of nearly 16 percent.

In a survey conducted by the commission in May, 75 percent of respondents said rising costs were the main reason for switching to robots.

Robot Hamburger Maker
Even fast food jobs are rapidly being abolished by technology.  No longer will they say, “He’s going to end up flipping burgers.” Because now, robots are taking even these ignobly esteemed jobs. Alpha machine from Momentum Machines cooks up a tasty burger with all the fixins. And it does it with such quality and efficiency it’ll produce “gourmet quality burgers at fast food prices.”
(singularityhub.com)

As factories used more robots, the proportion of surveyed enterprises with labor shortages dropped from 80 percent last year to 56.4 percent. The survey was based on replies from 515 enterprises that have introduced robot workers.

More than 60 percent of the enterprises surveyed have reduced production line employees by at least 10 percent, while 16 percent of the firms have cut their production jobs by more than 30 percent.

Meanwhile, robot workers have helped these factories improve productivity by more than 10 percent.
.
If such a strategy is adopted by large enterprises throughout the province, the labor shortage will be reduced by 700,000 workers, saving 29 billion yuan in labor costs a year, the commission said.

Li Gang, president of the robotics sector in China at ABB, a leading supplier of industrial robots, said China has become a "world factory", but with increasing awareness of health and safety the manufacturing sector faces challenges in the workplace.

"Replacing workers with robots in dangerous and unhealthy working environments and using them for more creative jobs will be an inevitable choice for China's manufacturing sector," Li said.

He was speaking at a forum during the 15th China International Industry Fair in Shanghai last week.

Li said robot sales in China accounted for 21 percent of the world's total in 2012, and he estimates that the country will become the largest robot market in the next year or two.

Red Lobster wants to give our jobs to illegal aliens - Corporate America betrays the nation

A Giant Fuck You from Corporate America
  • The Republican Party's Corporate Masters have gathered to pressure House Republicans to cave on immigration in order to increase their profits.
  • With over 90 million people not in the workforce, with record food stamps, poverty and under employment, corporate America wants 30 to 40 millions new workers legalized and/or imported into our economy.

Editor's Note - My wife's company outside of Los Angeles is an example of the screwing of the American worker.  All of the American citizens on the 3rd floor were fired and their jobs sent to the Philippines.  On the 1st floor all of the American citizens were "phased out" and the entire floor is now filled with temp agency tech workers imported from India.  My wife and the few Americans left on the 2nd floor await their fate . . . and the screwing of America goes on and on.

The Democrats are fully on board with impoverishing American citizens by legalizing and importing 30 to 40 million citizens of foreign nations as new workers.  Now the business community is pushing the GOP to join in on the fun.  Don't worry they say.  We will pony up all the campaign money you need in case of an election challenge.

In a public statement released post-government shutdown on Oct. 23, the Essential Worker Immigration Coalition (EWIC) wrote that it thinks Congress should focus on immigration reform efforts before the end of the year.

“Now that Congress can refocus after the showdown over the budget and debt ceiling, we are hearing calls from both sides of the aisle to go back to immigration reform,” EWIC wrote. “The Essential Worker Immigration Coalition (EWIC) is looking forward to continuing to work with the House of Representatives as it deliberates the important issue of immigration reform,” reports Breitbart News.

Among other groups, the EWIC represents the National Council of Chain Restaurants (NCCR). According to the group’s website, its board includes a who’s who of fast food restaurant executives.

For instance, NCCR’s chairman is Chip Kunde of Darden Restaurants--which owns brands like the Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Longhorn Steakhouse, Seasons 52, the Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze, Eddie V’s, and Yard House. Other members include:
  • Vice Chairman: Mary Schnell of Wendy’s
  • Treasurer: Cicely Simpson of Dunkin’ Donuts
  • Secretary Lynn Liddle of Domino’s Pizza
  • Past Chairman: Mike Starnes of Denny’s
  • Board members: Donald Balfour of Waffle House, Steve Hilton of McDonald’s, Craig Prusher of Church’s Chicken, James Richardson of White Castle, Patrick Sheehy from Cracker Barrel, Mark Simpson of Texas Roadhouse, Dan Colegrove of DineEquity, Inc., which owns IHOP and Applebee’s, and Joe Taylor of Brinker International, Inc., which owns Chili’s and Maggiano’s brands
  • Chairman Emeritus: Steve Brigandi of Jack in the Box

Conservative Socialism
The politicians double cross the American people and line the pockets of their
corporate allies with cash with an endless flow of cheap imported labor.
After all, it is only "fair" to legalize 30 million new workers to compete
directly with American citizens for the limited number of jobs.
.
As a bonus, businesses rake in the money when they provide "free"
Obamaphones and when EBT card money is spent in their stores.  For
businesses more poor people means more money in their accounts.
.
Conservative Socialism.  Using taxation the wealth is re-distributed
through the state's welfare system and into the pockets of
Corporate America.

The EWIC argued that despite unprecedentedly high unemployment rates, the industries it represents somehow need more workers. According to the September report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate in America stands a 7.2 percent and has not dropped below 7 percent since President Barack Obama took office.

“There is currently no effective process by which lesser skilled essential workers can immigrate legally other than a guest worker in a seasonal or temporary period position,” EWIC wrote in its statement. “Our American-born workforce will increase only 1% over the next 10 years. The restaurant industry alone projects a need for 15% more workers. There are simply not enough American-born workers to fill the jobs we expect to be created by a vibrant economy in the coming years.”

House Budget Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) has publicly stated he wants a conference committee with the Senate bill. "A lot of people are saying, just pass the Senate bill," Ryan said in July. "That's not what the House is going to do. I think we can make it better.”

Other industry groups the EWIC represents include:
  • American Health Care Association
  • American Hotel & Lodging Association
  • American Immigration Lawyers Association
  • American Meat Institute
  • American Nursery & Landscape Association American Staffing Association
  • Associated Builders and Contractors
  • Associated General Contractors of America
  • Federation of Employers & Workers of America
  • Greenberg Traurig, LLP
  • ImmigrationWorks USA
  • Independent Electrical Contractors International Franchise Association
  • National Apartment Association
  • National Association of Home Builders
  • National Association of Manufacturers National Club Association
  • National Multi Housing Council
  • National Retail Federation
  • National Roofing Contractors Association Professional Landcare Network
  • Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council
  • Small Business Workforce Alliance
EWIC is hardly the only group representing fast food restaurants pushing for amnesty. The National Restaurant Association (NRA) has participated in the campaign to lobby the House of Representatives as well.
